Unroasted Greens

Roast your own, roast at home!

Our farmers roast their coffee over open fires. If you have a deep pan, you can use your stove top. If you have a popcorn maker, that works too. Either way roasting can be a fun hobby, like baking. Or it can turn into a scientific craft for the DIY foodie....like baking.

When roasting at home make sure to take proper precautions, such as:

  • opening windows and/or turning on fans to ensure proper ventilation. There will be some slight smoke (like burning toast), more for darker roasts.
  • cleaning the area surrounding the stove top, clearing away any clutter.
  • making sure that there is a fire extinguisher close by....just in case.

Choose one of our seasonal single-origins to get started. There are descriptions of each available origin below.

You can order in quantities of 1 lb, no minimum and no maximum while stocks last.

To get more than 1 LB at a time, simply adjust quantities during checkout.

Uganda, East Africa. Buginyanya Farmers Group

$6.10/lb

Crop to Cup has been working in the Gibuzaale area for more than four years, and each year these lots keep getting better. Shrouded in a perpetual mist, farmers in Gibuzaale have worked hard to re-invigorate their farms  through inter-cropping, stumping and organic husbandry of their trees. These farmers also have village test plots where they can meet and try new methods to continually improve their farms. A robust seedling project is supported by your purchase of these beans.

This coffee has aromatic notes of liqueur, sweet corn and apricot with butter, sweet onion and green grape flavor notes.

Uganda, East Africa. Kapchowra Washing Station

$6.10/lb

This washing station is located in the northwest corner of Mt. Elgon, but is a separate and distinct micro-region from the larger Bugisu area. This washing station has been recently built and has new equipment and a seedling nursery, which your purchase helps fund.

This coffee has peanut, rose and green apple aromatics with sweet lemon, citrus and pepper flavor notes.
